AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARSON AMENDING
CHAPTER 3, ARTICLE VI OF THE CARSON MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO DELINQUENCIES AND PENALTIES
FOR NONPAYMENT OF LICENSE FEES AND PERMIT FEES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 6326 of Part 2, Chapter 3, Article VI of the Carson
Municipal Code is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows:
"6326. Delwin uency and Penalties - License Fees.
(a) Delinquency defined: Any license fee required by this Chapter,
whether daily, weekly, monthly or annual, is delinquent if not
paid by 5:00 p.m. on the day that such license fee becomes
due and payable. If the day the license fee becomes due and
payable falls on a Saturday, Sunday, National or State Holiday
or any other day the City's offices are closed, such license fee
is delinquent if not paid by 5:00 p.m. on the next working day.
(b) (1) Any daily, weekly or monthly license fee that remains unpaid
after 5:00 p.m. on the seventh (7th) calendar day succeeding
the day that the fee becomes due and payable shall be assessed
a penalty of twenty-five percent (25%) of the original amount
of the license fee, which penalty shall be added to the license
fee. If the fee remains unpaid for fifteen (15) or more calendar
days after the day the fee becomes due and payable, an additional
penalty of twenty-five percent (25%) of the amount of the original
license fee for a total penalty of fifty percent (50%) shall be
assessed and added to the license fee.
(2) Any annual license fee that remains unpaid after 5:00 p.m.
on the sixtieth (60th) calendar day succeeding the day that
the fee becomes due and payable shall be assessed a penalty
of twenty-five percent (2596) of the original amount of the
license fee, which penalty shall be added to the license fee.
If the fees remain unpaid for ninety (90) or more calendar days
succeeding the day that the fee becomes due and payable, an
additional penalty of twenty-five percent (25%) of the amount
of the original license fee for a total penalty of fifty percent
(5096) shall be assessed and added to the license fee.
(3) When the day that the penalty is to be imposed falls on
a Saturday, Sunday, National or State Holiday, or on any other
day the City's offices are closed, the penalty shall be imposed
if the fee is not paid by 5:00 p.m. on the next working day."
Section 2. Section 6327 of Part 2, Chapter 3, Article VI of the Carson
Municipal Code is hereby repealed in its entirety.
Section 3. Section 6395.1 of Part 4, Chapter 3, Article VI of the Carson
Municipal Code is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows:
"6395.1. Delinquency and Penalties - Permit Fees.
(a) Delinquency defined: Any permit fee required by this Chapter
is delinquent if not paid by 5:00 p.m. on the day that such permit
fee becomes due and payable. Original permit fees are due
prior to the commencement of any business requiring such permit
fee. If the day the permit fee becomes due and payable falls
on a Saturday, Sunday, National or State Holiday or any other
day the City's offices are closed, such permit fee is delinquent
if not paid by 5:00 p.m. on the next working day.

(b) Penalties:
(1) Any daily, weekly, or monthly permit fee required by this

(7th) calendar day succeeding the day that the fee becomes
due and payable shall be assessed a penalty of twenty-five percent
(25%) of the original amount of the permit fee, which penalty
shall be added to the fee. If the permit fee remains unpaid
for fifteen (15) or more calendar days after such permit fee
becomes due and payable, an additional penalty of twenty-five
percent (25%) of the amount of the original permit fee for a
total penalty of fifty percent (50%) shall be assessed and added
to the permit fee.
(2) Any annual permit fee required by this Chapter that is not
paid by 5:00 p.m. on the sixtieth (60th) calendar day succeeding
the day that the fee becomes due and payable shall be assessed
a penalty of twenty-five percent (25%) of the original amount
of the permit fee, which penalty shall be added to the fee.
If the fee remains unpaid for ninety (90) or more calendar days
succeeding the day that the fee becomes due and payable, an
additional penalty of twenty-five percent (25%) of the amount
of the original permit fee for a total penalty of fifty percent
(50%) shall be assessed and added to the license fee.

day the City's offices are closed, the penalty shall be imposed
if the fee is not paid by 5:00 p.m, on the next working day.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become operative on January 1, 1989.

five; that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 88-850 passed first reading
on November 1, 1988, was duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of said
City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 15th
day, of November , 19 88 , and that the same was passed and adopted by the
following roll call vote:
