AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CARSON
AMENDING ARTICLE IX OF
THE CARSON MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO STREAMERS, BANNERS, PENNANTS
AND SIMILAR DISPLAYS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 9136.7(C) of Division 6, Part 3 of the Carson Municipal
Code relating to streamers, banners, pennants, and similar displays is hereby amended to
read:
"C. Streamers, banners, pennants, and similar displays are
permitted subject to the following:
1) Streamers, banners, pennants, and similar
displays may be exhibited in connection
with grand openings and other special events
upon written approval of the Community
Development Director. Requests for such
displays shall be submitted to the Community
Development Director, in writing, thirty
(30) days prior to the event. All approvals
shall be limited to a total of sixty (60) days
of display per calendar year per business.
2) Any streamer, banner, pennant, or similar
display shall be suspended so as to maintain
at least seven (7) foot clearance.
3) In any event, no streamer, banner, pennant,
or similar displays shall be exhibited if,
in the opinion of the Director, such displays
are not adequately maintained.
4) Christmas decorations displayed between
thirty (30) days prior to and fifteen (15)
days after December 25, and those displayed
during official public events are not subject
to this Subsection.
SECTION 2._ Section 9146.7(C) of Division 6, Part 4 of the Carson Municipal
Code relating to streamers, banners, pennants, and similar displays is hereby amended to
read:
"C. Streamers, banners, pennants, and similar displays are
permitted subject to the following:
1) Streamers, banners, pennants, and similar
displays may be exhibited in connection
with grand openings and other special events
upon written approval of the Community
Development Director. Requests for such
displays shall be submitted to the Community
Development Director, in writing, thirty

hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City is
four; that the foregoing ordinance, being Ordinance No. 88-856 passed first reading
on December 13, 1988, was duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of said
City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the 20th
day, of December 19 _a&_, and that the same was passed and adopted by the
following roll call vote:
