SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL uF THE VILLAGE OF MEDINA
JANUARY 17,1961
Meeting called to order by Mayor Scobt at 8:00 P.M!
All council members were present.
Motion by Arthur Gertz to appoint Robert Scott Polick.Chief
for 1961, Second by Herb Arens, Motion carried.
Motion by Arthur Gertz to postpone for two weeks the
appointment of Police officers. There was no second to thas
motion.
Officers Eisinger and `i'hell were questioned by the council
on a juvinle case which is pending and a possiblity of a
complaint being made against the polk e officers.
Motion by Harold Winterhalter to appoint Urlo Eisinger and
Calvin Thell Police officers for the coming yesr,1961.
Second by Robert Roehl. Vote was as follows; Winterhalter,
Roehl and Scott, Aye. Gertz and Arens Nay. Motion carried.
Notion by Herb Arens to appoint Alfred Merz building inspector,
second by Arthur Gertz, Motion carried.
Motion by Arthur Gertz to appoint one road maineance supervisior
to be responsible for the general over all maintenance of the
Village roads and he have the autority to hire any help needed
and rent any equipment necessary to get the job done for the
year 1961 and that he work through the road committee and
report to the Village council once each month. Second by
Herb Arens, Motion carried.
Motion by herb Arens to appoint Leo Leuer road supervisior
for the year 1961, second by Harold Winterhalter, Motion carried.
:Motion by Arthur Gertz to bring up matter of appointing
civel defense diregor at next meeting, Second by Harold
Winterhalter, ',lotion carried.
Motion by Herb Arens to consider Priliminary Police Code,
second by Arthur Gertz, motion carried.
AXANOWPAXDUIMAA4 Motion by Herb Arens to adopt Medina
Police Code which was presentgby Mayor Scott, second by
Harold Winterhalter:
Motion by Arthur Gertz to add the phrase "by word or pys*ical
action " to item 4, Section 1, Second by Kerb Arens, Motion
carried.
Motion by Robert Roehl to amend item 5 of Section 4, to add
the words "and Federal Communications Commission Regulations"
second by Arthur Gertz, Motion carried.
''Motion by Harold Winterhalter to add the following sentance
to Item 3, Section 2. Termination shall be approved by
majority of council. Second by Arthur Gertz, Motion carried.
Original motion by Herb Arens to adopt Police code was
carried.
Clerk was advised to write Geo Matthew Chairman of County
Boadd in regard application for police radio.
Motion By Arthur Gertz, Second by Harold Winterhalter, to
adjourn, Motion carried. 'Meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
