tion duly adopted by the Board of Directors of the District by the
above vote at a meeting thereof duly held and called on the above

RESOLUTION NO. 74-16
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
MIDPENINSULA REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT APPROVING
THE APPLICATION FOR 1974 STATE GRANT FUNDS
FOR THE NORTH FOOTHILLS OPEN SPACE PRESERVE -
PERMANENTE CREEK PARK PROJECT
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted
the "State Beach, Park, Recreational, and Historical Facilities
Bond Act of 1974" which provides funds to the State of Calif-
ornia and its political subdivisions for acquiring lands and
developing facilities for public outdoor recreation and histor-
ical purposes; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been
delegated the responsibility for the administration of the
program within the State, setting up necessary procedures gov-
erning application by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department
of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by
resolution the approval of applications prior to submission of
said applications to the State; and
WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the appli-
cant must comply with; and
WHEREAS, said procedures further require the applicant to possess
an adopted plan showing parks and recreation lands and facili-
ties, existing and proposed; and
WHEREAS, the District's Interim Master Plan was first adopted
by the District on April 10, 1974; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Permanente Creek Park Project appears on
the District's Plan, is consistent with the California Outdoor
Recreation Resources Plan and is in conformity with the State
Environmental Goals and Policy Report; and
WHEREAS, the project must be compatible with the land use plans
of those jurisdictions immediately surrounding the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of
the Midpeninsula Regional Park District hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for 1974 State Grant
assistance; and
2. Certifies that said District understands the assurances in
the application; and
3. Certifies that said District has or will have sufficient
funds to operate and maintain the project; and
4. Certifies that said District meets the planning requirements
and that the project is compatible with the land use plans
of those jurisdictions immediately surrounding the project;
and
5. Appoints the General Manager as agent of the District to
conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents
including but not limited to applications, agreements, amend-
ments, payment requests, and so on which may be necessary
for the completion of the aforementioned project.
