A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
TO TERMINATE A CONTRACT WITH ARAMARK UNIFORM & CAREER APPAREL,
LLC AND ISSUE A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS TO PROVIDE UNIFORM
SERVICES
WHEREAS, on April 2, 2013, the City and Aramark Uniform & Career Apparel,
LLC ( Aramark) entered into an agreement to utilize Aramark as its sole vendor for
industrial uniform rental and product services for Lynwood employees; and
WHEREAS, over the past several months the Public Works Department has
been having several issues with Aramark services; and
WHEREAS, staff has made several good faith efforts to resolve the deficiencies
and has served Aramark with a Notice of Default; and
WHEREAS, there has not been any improvements on the services received after
the issuance of the Notice of Default; and
WHEREAS, the current contract with Aramark provides a stipulation for
termination for default.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council authorize the termination of the current contract
with Aramark and directs the City Attorney to implement the termination and issue a
request for proposals to provide uniform services.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
