HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-12-2011 Task Force Minutes Advisory Task Force on Economic Development Meeting Minutes January 12, 2011 Edward Plainfield Campus Attendees: Tim Stetenfeld, Brian Davis, Greg Schaefer, Troy Strange, Steve Preze, and Michael Blaylock. Also: Brian Murphy, Michael Garrigan, Jonathan Proulx, Rick Kaczanko, and Amy De Boni. The meeting was called to order at 7:35 a.m. Village Administrator Brian Murphy took roll call. Michael Konrad, Harold Oliver, Mike Paris, Pat Harbour, and John Harper were absent. Public Comments: None. Business Meeting Motion was made by Steve Preze, second by Brian Davis, to approve the minutes of the December 8, 2010 Meeting. Motion passed (6 ‐0). Chairman Stetenfeld mentioned that the Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual State of the Village luncheon would be held on January 19, 2011 at Whitetail Ridge. The Task Force members generally discussed the impact of the State’s tax increase on businesses. Administrator Murphy mentioned the presentation entitled “Illinois Is Broke” and encouraged the Task Force to visit illinoisisbroke.com for more information. Administrator Murphy introduced the outline for the Village’s proposed Business Retention and Expansion Plan. Jon Proulx then introduced various sections of the proposed plan including the Executive Summary, Vision Statement, Introduction, Business Retention Outreach, and Business Support Services. The Task Force discussed and provided feedback on these sections of the plan outline. Due to time constraints, the Task Force decided to continue its discussion of the Business Retention and Expansion Plan to the next meeting. The Task Force requested a copy of the Village’s Business License Application so that they could review it. The Task Force set the next meeting for February 9, 2011 at 7:30 a.m. at the Village Hall. The meeting adjourned at 8:45 a.m.
