HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-09-2011 Task Force Minutes Advisory Task Force on Economic Development Meeting Minutes February 9, 2011 Village Hall Attendees: Tim Stetenfeld, Brian Davis, Greg Schaefer, Troy Strange, Steve Preze, Michael Blaylock, Mike Paris, Pat Harbour, and Harold Oliver (arrived 7:45 a.m.). Also: Brian Murphy, Michael Garrigan, Jonathan Proulx, Rick Kaczanko, and Amy De Boni. Chairman Stetenfeld called the meeting to order at 7:36 a.m. Village Administrator Brian Murphy took roll call. Michael Konrad and John Harper were absent. Public Comments: None. Business Meeting Motion was made by Steve Preze, second by Michael Blaylock, to approve the minutes of the January 12, 2011 Meeting, with one change, the addition of the meeting location. Motion passed (8 ‐0). Chairman Stetenfeld commented that the January meeting went well and provided a recap of the meeting. The Task Force then discussed the Village’s Business License Application. Suggestions to improve the process included making the application process available online, having sections “expand” as needed to shorten the form, creating a separate form for home ‐based businesses, and combining pages 2, 3, and 4 which would make the form significantly shorter. Additionally, the Task Force discussed concerns relating to providing social security numbers on the form. Jon Proulx then introduced various sections of the proposed Business Retention & Expansion Plan including Business Support Services and Doing Business in Plainfield. The Task Force discussed and provided feedback on these sections of the plan outline. The Task Force decided to continue its discussion of the Business Retention and Expansion Plan to the next meeting on March 9, 2011. The meeting adjourned at 8:45 a.m.
