Van Dyke Road Attendees: Tim Stetenfeld, Michael Blaylock, Greg Schaefer, Steve Preze, Brian Davis, Harold Oliver, Dan O’Donnell, Anna Trost, Janet Scott (Harbour Contractors), Shannon Greene Robb (Arranmore Center for the Arts), and Katra Knoernschild (Arranmore Center for the Arts). Also: Brian Murphy, Michael Garrigan, Jonathan Proulx, Rick Kaczanko, and Amy De Boni. Chairman Stetenfeld called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. Pat Harbour, Mike Paris, Michael Konrad, and Troy Strange were absent. Public Comments: None. Business Meeting Motion was made by Brian Davis, second by Steve Preze, to approve the minutes of the December 14, 2011 Meeting. Motion passed (6 ‐0). Chairman Stetenfeld introduced Shannon Greene Robb of Arranmore Center for the Arts. Ms. Robb made a brief presentation on Arranmore, their vision, and mission. Chairman Stetenfeld welcomed Anna Trost of Wine & Cheese by TCC to the Task Force and also introduced Janet Scott of Harbour Contractors. Jon Proulx highlighted some of the projects of 2011 including Performance Gear, The Springs at 127 th , the new Edward Medical Office Building, and the Opera House/Clocktower project. Michael Garrigan then highlighted some of the Village’s upcoming projects including the purchase/renovation of the former Baci’s, Route 30, the Mega Sports expansion, and the Comprehensive Plan Update. Brian Murphy highlighted the increase in the Village’s retail sales esp. auto and food/beverages. Amy De Boni discussed the business seminars that the Village is offering in conjunction with Joliet Junior College and the Illinois Small Business Development Center. The Village received a great response to the Free Publicity Seminar held in March, 50+ people attended and the feedback on the seminar was positive. Attendees are also interested in social media/web seminars. In June, a second seminar will be offered, Creating A Web Site. The Library, Chamber of Commerce, and MainStreet Plainfield are assisting with promoting the seminars. An update was also provided on the Business Evolution Center. The center is now 100% full.
The Task Force then discussed future site visits to retailers because the industrial businesses were visited last year. The meeting adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
