A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF AN INTERIM CITY CLERK AND
TREASURER FOR THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA
WHEREAS, the current appointed City Clerk and Treasurer, Ruth Demuth, has submitted her resignation
effective December 31, 2011 and the City Council accepted this resignation.
WHEREAS, the City Council understands the need to fill this vacancy to allow the transition of duties starting
January 1, 2012 so necessary functions for the City can be continued.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to fill these functions for a temporary interim period until such time that
the City Council approves a permanent replacement for the position.
THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED, the City Council appoints Adelia C. Madden, to the interim temporary
position of City Clerk and Treasurer, starting on January 1, 2012, as detailed in the Code of Ordinances
Chapters 18 and 19, in accordance to Code of Iowa, Section 372.13, 380.7, and 362.3.
Hourly compensation is approved in the amount of $24.00 per hour, established as per Code of Iowa, Section
372.13.
On this 111h day of January 2012 at a regular meeting of Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, and Council person
Ryan introduced RESOLUTION 2012 -02 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF AN
INTERIM CITY CLERK AND TREASURER FOR THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA and made a motion for
approval. The motion was seconded by Council person Weipert.
AYES: Ball, Bartels, Ryan, Upton, Weipert
NAYS: none
ABSENT: none
WHEREUPON, with 5 votes for approval, Mayor Berner declared that Resolution 2012 -02 A RESOLUTION
APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF AN INTERIM CITY CLERK AND TREASURER FOR THE CITY OF
TIFFIN, IOWA be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
Passed and approved thisl lth day of January, 2012.
