A) CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL Approval of the Workshop Minutes of May 23 , 2005. 1) AWARD PRESENTATION The Conservatio n Foundation together with the Will County Forest Preserve will present the Village commendations for its environmental achievements. 2 ) PROTECT KENDALL NOW! The Conservation Foundation is just about ready to undertake a new major lan d conservation initiative in Kendall County. The project is called Protect Kendall Now! and its major goal is to increase the pace of land conservation in Kendall County. Brook McDonald, President/CEO of The Conservation Foundation will give a brief presentation on the initiative, describing the three phases of the project, and request Plainfield's support. 3) OPEN SPACE PLAN Seeking Board discussion and direction regarding the Village's draft Open Space Plan. Comments from outside agencies have been received and incorporated into the Plan. Attached is a brief staff report detailing some of the changes along with the updated Open Space Plan. Staff proposes to proceed with the public hearing process to adopt the Plan. 4 ) GRANDE PARK SOUTH The developer for Grande Park has been moving forward with the design. They have been bringing the project forward to the Board in stages to be sure they are on track. The last meeting the Board was introduced to Randall Arendt, the nationally recognized land planner and author on conservation design. The developer and Mr. Arendt will present the draft plan and outline how the plan was achieved. Staff and the developer are looking for Board input and direction on the pl an. 5 ) COMMUNITY SURVEY Staff has prepared a survey to gage public input. This survey is similar to the 2001 survey, which will help identify changes as community demographics change, but some questions have been added to evaluate the public's priorities and how they feel about the direction of the community on many current topics. COW June 13, 2005 Page 2 of 2 6 ) HISTORIC PRESERVA TION SURVEY REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL Two requests for proposals have been drafted – one urban and one rural – and have been approve d by the Historic Preservation. The two documents are attached for your review. Staff is seeking Board approval to solicit consultants' proposals to perform survey work to identify Plainfield's historic urban and rural properties.
