HomeMy Public PortalAbout69-023RESOLUTION NO. 69-23 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON REQUESTING THE ASSEMBLYMEN AND SENA- TORS REPRESENTING THE CITY OF CARSON TO MEET PERIODICALLY WITH CITY OFFICIALS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, there are numerous and varied problems and issues confronting the cities in the metropolitan regions of the State of California, including the Los Angeles metropolitan area, of which the City of Carson is a part; and WHEREAS, such problems and issues require the assistance and cooperation of the duly elected members of the California State Assembly and State Senate serving the area encompassing all or portions of the City of Carson; and WHEREAS, it is to the mutual advantage of the Senators, Assemblymen and of the duly elected Councilmen of the City of Carson, that they meet periodically to discuss said problems and issues and their rela- tionship to the City of Carson and its citizens; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby requests the members of the California State Senate and California State Assembly who represent all or portions of the City of Carson to be available one day each month, in their respective districts, for meeting with members of the City Council and official staff of the City of Carson; RESOLVED, FURTHER, that said members of the Senate and Assembly are requested to arrange schedules so as to enable such meetings to be held; RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the City Clerk forward copies of this resolution to each Senator and Assemblyman representing the City of Carson, and to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the Assembly.
