C) PRESIDENTIAL COMMENTS D) TRUSTEES COMMENTS E) WORKSHOP MEETING 1) LAKE MICHIGAN WATER AMENDM ENTS – AMERICAN WATER COMPANY Approximately two years ago the Village was granted an increase in our Lake Michigan Water Allocation for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. While our old Allocation only permitted the Village to utilize enough wa ter to serve a population of 40,500 people, our new Allocation will allow sufficient water fl ow to serve a future population of 110,000. Whereas the change in our Allocation is an extremely important milestone, this adjustment will require the Village to amend the current ag reements that we have with our wholesale provider, American Water. As the required amen dments have been drafted, Staff will provide an overview regarding this issue. James A. Joint Meeting with Plainfield Township and Committee of the Whole Agenda November 10, 2008 Page 2 of 2 2) WASTEWATER TREATMENT AGREEM ENT – ILLINOIS-AMERICAN WATER COMPANY The Illinois-American Water Company curren tly owns and operates a small wastewater treatment facility that is located directly northeast of the Boul evard Development. It has been anticipated that the existing wa stewater facility will be aba ndoned once a sanitary sewer is extended to the Boulevard property. Staff will provide an overview regarding this issue.
