A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARSON APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
FOR REMODELING INTERIOR OF THE STRUCTURE AT
21919 SOUTH AVALON BOULEVARD; ORDERING THE
WORK, ADOPTING A WAGE SCALE, CALLING FOR BIDS
AND DESIGNATING A TIME AND PLACE FOR THE
OPENING OF BIDS (CITY OF CARSON - REMODELING
WORK, CASH CONTRACT NO. 4)
WHEREAS, H.M. Scott and Associates have prepared plans and
specifications for remodeling interior of the structure at 21919 South
Avalon Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Carson
that such plans and specifications be approved and the work shown therein
be done by the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1. Approval of Plans and Specifications. The plans
and specifications filed on June 23, 1969, with the City Clerk, and bearing
the designation "City of Carson, California, Specifications for Remodeling
Interior of the Structure at 21919 South Avalon Boulevard, Cash Contract No.
4, and relating to the improvements as described in this Resolution, are
hereby approved.
Section 2. Ordering the Work. It is ordered that the work
and improvements proposed to be done, hereinafter designated as remodeling
interior of the structure at 21919 South Avalon Boulevard, Cash Contract No.
4, shall be performed as shown in said plans and specifications.
Section 3. Specifying Fund. It is ordered that the cost to
the City of said work and improvements shall be paid as follows:
General Fund approximately $78,600
Section 4. Adoption of Wage Scale. It is hereby determined
that the general prevailing rate of hourly wages in the locality in which
such work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic
needed to execute such public work, and also the general prevailing rate
for legal holiday and overtime work for each craft or workman or mechanic,
are in accordance with the schedule attached hereto, marked "Exhibit A to
Resolution No. 69--70", and made a part of this Resolution.
The wage scale contained in said schedule shall supersede
any previous schedule of such rates heretofore adopted by this Council.
A copy of this Resolution shall be kept on file in the office
of the City Clerk and open to public inspection.
Section 5. Call for Bids. The City Clerk is hereby ordered
to post a Notice :Inviting Sealed Bids for said project in at least three
(3) public places in the City of Carson, as designated by the Carson Muni-
cipal Code. Said Notice shall distinctly state the project to be done and
refer to the specifications on file.
Section 6. Receipt and Opening of Bids. The City Council
hereby fixes Thursday, July 17, 1969, at the hour of 11:00 o'clock A.M.,
as the day and hour, and the City Treasurer's office of the City Hall,
Carson, as the place of opening of bids; and said time and place shall be
shown in the Notice. All bids shall be delivered to, opened, examined and
declared by the City Administrator at the City Hall, 22805 South Avalon
Boulevard, Carson, California, and shall be publicly opened.

The City Administrator shall report the results of such
bidding to the City Council at its next regular meeting after the opening
of bids.
No proposal or bid shall be considered by the City Adminis-
trator, or by the City Council, unless accompanied by a check or bid bond
as required by law and satisfactory to the City Council.

I, MARILYN R. CORTINA, City Clerk of the City of Carson,
California, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City
Council of said City is five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolu-
tion No. 69-70, was duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of said
City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the
23rd day of June, 1969, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the
following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Smith, Marbut, Clark and
Junk.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: Yamamoto.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.
