A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
THE INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTS ON CARSON STREET,
THE SAN DIEGO FREEWAY TO WILMINGTON AVENUE,
ORDERING THE WORK, ADOPTING A WAGE SCALE, CALL-
ING FOR BIDS AND DESIGNATING A TIME AND PLACE FOR
THE OPENING OF BIDS (CITY OF CARSON —STREET LIGHT
INSTALLATION, CASH CONTRACT NO. 10)
WHEREAS, the Road Department of Los Angeles County has prepared plans
and specifications for the installation of street lights and appurtenances for Carson Street
between the San Diego Freeway and Wilmington Avenue in the City of Carson; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Carson that such plans
and specifications be approved and the work shown therein be done by the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1. Approval of Plans and Specifications. The plans and specifica-
tions filed with tt i�Cler and bearing the designation "Cash Contract No. 10 - City
of Carson, Carson Street, San Diego Freeway to Wilmington Avenue", and relating to the
improvements as described in this Resolution, are hereby approved.
Section 2. Ordering the Work. It is ordered that the work and improve-
ments proposed to on -e, hereinafter designated as Cash Contract No. 10, Carson Street,
San Diego Freeway to Wilmington Avenue, City of Carson, shall be performed as shown
in said plans and specifications.
Section 3. Specifying Fund. It is ordered that the cost to the City of said
work and improvements shall be paid as follows:
Gas Tax Fund Approximately $29,000.00
Section 4. Adoption of Wage Scale. It is hereby determined that the
general prevailing rate of hourly wages in the locality in which such work is to be per-
formed, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute such public
work, and also the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work for each
craft or workman or mechanic are in accordance with the schedule adopted by Resolution
No. 69-82. A copy of Resolution No. 69-82 and the schedule of prevailing wage rates
being on file in the office of the City Clerk and open to public inspection.
Section 5. Call for Bids. The City Clerk is hereby ordered to post a Notice
Inviting Sealed Bids for said project in at least three (3) public places in the City of Carson
as designated by the Carson Municipal Code. Said Notice shall distinctly state the project
to be done and refer to the specifications on file.
Section 6. Receipt and Opening of Bids. The City Council hereby fixes
Thursday, February 19, 1970, at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A.M., as the day and hour,
and the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Carson, as the place of opening of bids; and
said time and place shall be shown in the Notice. All bids shall be delivered to, opened,
examined and declared by the City Clerk at the City Hall, 21919 South Avalon Boulevard,
Carson, California, and shall be publicly opened.
The City Administrator shall report the results of such bidding to the City
Council at its next regular meeting after the opening of bids.

No proposal or bid shall be considered by the City Administrator or by the
City Council unless accompanied by a check or bid bond as required by law and satisfactory
to the City Council.

I, MARILYN R. CORTINA, City Clerk of the City of Carson, California, do
hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City is five; that
the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 70-015, was duly and regularly adopted by
the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on
the 26th day of January, 1970, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following
vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Yamamoto, Smith, Marbut, Clark
and Junk.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.
