A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON ACCEPTING THE WORK PERFORMED BY A.E.C.
EAGLE ROCK IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF STREET LIGHT-
ING ON CARSON STREET BETWEEN ORRICK AVENUE AND
THE SAN DIEGO FREEWAY (CITY OF CARSON - CASH
CONTRACT NO. 6)
WHEREAS, the City Council did on the 10th day of November, 1969,
award a contract for the construction of street lighting on Carson Street between
Orrick Avenue and the San Diego Freeway to A.E.C. Eagle Rock; and

WHEREAS, said work has been duly performed and completed by said con -
WHEREAS, said work has been inspected by the Los Angeles County Road
Commissioner, acting in his capacity as City Superintendent of Streets, and has
been approved by the County Road Commissioner as having been constructed and com-
pleted in its entirety, in accordance with the plans and specifications for such
improvement project; and
WHEREAS, the County Road Commissioner, acting in his capacity as City
Superintendent of Streets, does now recommend and request the acceptance of the
work and the filing of a NOTICE OF COMPLETION thereof; and
WHEREAS, the final contract price for said work is the sum of
$24,000.00 which said sum the County Road Commissioner, acting in his capacity as
City Superintendent of Streets, approves as just and fair; and
WHEREAS, the contract documents provide that a total of ten percent
(10%) of said total contract price shall be retained until thirty-five (35) days
after the recording of the NOTICE OF COMPLETION of said improvement project; and
WHEREAS, no payments have heretofore been made;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Carson does hereby
accept the work performed by said contractor and approve the same as being completed
in accordance with the plans and specifications for said project and authorized re-
visions therein, and the City Administrator is hereby authorized to file a NOTICE
OF COMPLETION of said project in the office of the Los Angeles County Recorder;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Finance Director and City Treasurer
be authorized and directed to pay to said contractor, A.E.C. Eagle Rock, the sum of
$24,000.00 in full payment for said work performed by said contractor. Ten percent
(10%) of said final contract price shall be held until the expiration of thirty-
five (35) days following the filing of said NOTICE OF COMPLETION, and then paid con-
tingent upon the absence of the filing of any stop notice against said project with-
in thirty (30) days after the filing of the NOTICE OF COMPLETION; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon expiration of said thirty-five (35)
days following the filing of said NOTICE OF COMPLETION, without any claim being
filed against said project, that all bonds filed by the contractor in said project
shall be exonerated and discharged, excepting that the faithful performance bond
shall remain in force until the expiration of one year from the date of filing said
NOTICE unless a substitute bond approved by the Director of Public Works and the
City Attorney shall have been filed.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of March , 1970.

I, MARILYN R. CORTINA, City Clerk of the City of Carson, California,
do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City
is five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 70-033, was duly and
regularly adopted by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said
Council, duly and regularly held on the 2nd day of March 1970, and that
the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Yamamoto, Smith, Marbut,
Clark and Junk.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.
