A meeting of the special water committee was held to -day at 4:00 p.m. and was attended by Mayor Gamble, who,presided, and Col. J.G.Butler,Samuel Blumenthal and Fred Wessels. The Mayor informed the committee that he had just returned from �dr Atlanta where he had gone. in the intesest of the waterworks system r dte.'tio, he ascertained that just as soon as the town gets an_1 adequate fire 0e 4650Aprotection system that the it will.be placed on a third class rat- ing on insurance, he said that he had asked for a letter from the 1)L1 ftlf3V J.B.McCreary Co., advising that in the event of the Town not get - oNN. ttehortting the proposed loan through that there will be no charge made fpvw,Ak.by them for t.ny service that they may have rendered - he ascer- )ay.ti taiged that the R.F.C. would soon be ready to advance money and that the Town should get the required data in just as quickly as possible and that the pkoposition should be admitted to the until everything reuired is furnished them - Col Butler suggested that the T.W.W. be approached to see if they will sell - Mr. Blumenthal said that he had spoken to A.P.S.jr., about selling and that'he said that the matter would have to be put up to the stockholders Mr. Wessells asked what was the Towns position if the T.W.W. re- fused to sell - the Mayor said that;, he would appoint a committee to confer with the representatives of the T and that he would also talk with Mr. A.P.Solomon,sr. A meeting was held to -day at 4:00 p.m of the special atar works committee and was attended by Mayor Gamble, who preitadd, and Councilmen Logan,; Blumenthal, sharpley and Cann also Mr Culver, and members of the citizens committee consististing of Cola J.G. Butler, J.L.Burdreau, S.N.Harris and Col. G.A.Gordon. The meeting was called to order. Butler said that the proper partied to present the plan for the loan to the R.F.C. was the Mayor and Councilmen and that the Georgia members of the House and Senate should make the appointments - the Mayor said that the requirements are that the project must be self- liquiddating the property owners do not have to worry about any increase in taxes - Col.Butler then asked what was be one -7ith the T.W.W. - the Mayor that they return their plant for taxes tQr^ about 7000.00 - Col Gordon said that he understoodmthat the J.B.McC. Co., would do everything possible to get the loan throughbthe R.Y.C.
