HomeMy Public PortalAbout70-138RESOLUTION NO. 70-138 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE THE DEDICATION OF EXCESS RIGHTS ALONG THE WEST SIDE OF FIGUEROA STREET BETWEEN GALAVAN STREET AND 235TH STREET WHEREAS, the subdividers of Tract No. 28968 abandoned all easements of vehicular ingress and egress to Figueroa Street adjacent to said tract, by recordation of Tract No. 28968 on November 22, 1968, in the Office of the County Recorder, Los Angeles County, except the general easement of travel which belongs to the whole public and except that portion legally described as follows: Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Lot 10 of abovementioned Tract No. 28968; thence northerly along the easterly line of said Lot 10, a curve to the left having a radius of 25 feet and a length of 25.21 feet; thence continuing along said easterly lot line and along a curve to the right having a radius of 35 feet and a length of 35.39 feet; thence northerly along the tangent of said curve 7 feet to a point which is the northerly most point of vacation; thence southerly and easterly along a curve on which said northerly most point is a point of tangency and having a radius of 35 feet and a length of 35.29 feet; thence along a curve to the right having a radius of 25 feet and a length of 25.21 feet thence along the tangent to said curve 7 feet to the point of beginning. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission approved Tract No. 28968 pertaining to excess rights; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the proposed ingress and egress locations as recorded by Tract No. 28968 are logical, right and proper for the proposed development of Tract No. 28968; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Carson, acting in its official capacity has reviewed the above conditions and finds them to be true and in the best interests of safety, convenience and good of the general public, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Carson does hereby declare its intention to vacate and abandon the dedication of excess rights on Figueroa Street as recorded under Tract No. 28968 pursuant to Section 956.8 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 958 of said code, a public hearing will be held on November 16, 1970, at the hour of 7:30 P.M., at the Council Chambers located at 21919 South Avalon Boulevard, Carson, California; and that at such time and place, any and all persons interested in said proposed vacation may appear and be heard; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall have posted this Resolution of Intention to Vacate in three (3) public places and along the line of the street to be vacated in the manner and in the form required by Section 8322 of the Streets and Highways Code (Street Vacation Act of 1941).
