A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON GRANTING A PERMIT TO SOUTHERN PACIFIC
TRANSPORTATION COMPANY, A CORPORATION, ITS
SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, TO CONSTRUCT, MAINTAIN,
AND OPERATE STANDARD GAUGE TRACKS OVER AND
ACROSS 230TH STREET IN THE CITY OF CARSON
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carson as follows:
WHEREAS, Southern Pacific Transportation Company, a corporation, has
applied for a permit to construct, maintain and operate standard gauge railroad tracks over
and across 230th Street in the City of Carson, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
the center line being described as follows:
Commencing at the most westerly corner of Lot 42 of Tract
No. 29411, in the City of Carson, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, as per map recorded in Book 756, pages 51 to 67, inclusive,
of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said county, said
corner being a point in the northerly line of 230th Street, 80 feet wide,
as established by said map and the map of Tract No. 27962, in said city,
county and state, recorded in Book 795, pages 64 to 75 inclusive of
said Maps; thence North 890 49`30" East, along said northerly line of
230th Street, a distance of 5.30 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING;
thence South 26004'39" West, 19.23 feet to the beginning of a tangent
curve concave southeasterly and having a radius of 382.24 feet; thence
southwesterly along said curve, through a central angle of 1030'15", an
arc distance of 10.03 feet; thence South 24034'24" West, tangent to
said curve, 50.00 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave
northwesterly, having a radius of 382.24 feet and being tangent at its
point of ending to a line that is parallel with and distance southeasterly
22.50 feet, measured at right angles from the northwesterly line of
Lot 3 of said Tract No. 27962; thence southwesterly along said curve
(through a central angle of 1021'45") an arc distance of 9.09 feet to a
point in the southerly line of said 230th Street, said last mentioned
point being distant North 89049'30" East, along said southerly line,
22.46 feet from the northeasterly terminus of the northwesterly line of
said Lot 3.
Reference is hereby made to the application therefor and the map accompanying the same
on file in the office of the City Clerk in the City of Carson for further particulars.
NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carson as follows:
Section I. A permit is hereby granted to the Southern Pacific Trans-
portation Company, its successors and assigns, to construct, maintain and operate a railroad
spur track over and across 230th Street as hereinabove more particularly described.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify as to the passage of this
resolution and t erreeupon the permit shall take effect and be in force.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this Ist day of February, 1971

I, Marilyn R. Cortina, City Clerk of the City of Carson, California, do
hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City is five;
that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 71-017, was duly and regularly
adopted by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and
regularly held on the 1st day of February, 1971 and that the same was so passed
and adopted by the fo o ing vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Junk, Leahy, Marbut, Spence and Smith.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.
