HomeMy Public PortalAbout71-029RESOLUTION NO. 71-029 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF A DEDICATED STREET - SAN PEDRO STREET SOUTHERLY OF GARDENA BOULEVARD WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has been requested to consider the feasibility of vacating a portion of a dedicated street - San Pedro Street, by the Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has requested reports from interested agencies; and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Director of Public Works and the Community Development Director that there is no need for the subject dedicated street; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at their meeting of February 9, 1971, considered the street vacation and has recommended favorable consideration for its vacation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Carson does hereby delcare its intention to vacate and abandon that portion of San Pedro Street southerly of Gardena Boulevard pursuant to Section 956.8 of the Streets and Highway Code of the State of California. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 958 of said Code, a public hearing will be heard on March 1, 1971, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers located at 21919 South Avalon Boulevard, and at such time and place any and all persons interested in said proposed vacation may appear and be heard. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall have posted this Resolution of Intention to Vacate in three public places and along the line of the street to be vacated, in the manner and in the form required by Section 8322 of the Streets and Highway Code (Street Vacation Act of 1941). Such notice shall be posted on or before February 19, 1971.
