A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON EXPRESSING RESPECTS FOR EDWARD J. REEVES
WHEREAS, on the 9th day of April, 1971, death brought to a close the
active life of Edward J. Reeves, better known as Ed Reeves; and
WHEREAS, Ed Reeves, through foresight and zeal for this community,
earned the respect and affection of the people in the City of Carson and of Dominguez;
and
WHEREAS, for more than three decades Ed Reeves devoted himself to the
service and betterment of the community of which he was part; and
WHEREAS, today there stand numerous public facilities, projects and
organizations as a tribute to his leadership, love of community and service to his fellow
man.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of
the City of Carson, by this resolution and public record, recognize the profound influence
of Mr. Edward J. Reeves upon the City of Carson, California, recognizing further that his
death is a distinct loss to the community in which he won deep respect and affection.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon the minutes
of the Council and copies be sent to his sons Edward J. Reeves, Jr., Arthur L. Reeves,
Walter G. Reeves, and to his widow Mrs. Natalie Reeves, in recognition of Mr. Edward
J. Reeves' respected place in this community.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19th day of April, 1971.

I, Marilyn R. Cortina, City Clerk of the City of Carson, California, do
hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City is five;
that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 71-063, was duly and regularly adopted
by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly
held on the 19th day of April, 1971, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the
following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Junk, Leahy, Marbut, Spence and Smith.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.
