A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
FURNISHING AND SPREADING LIQUID ASPHALT ON CITY
STREETS, ORDERING THE WORK, CALLING FORBIDS AND
DESIGNATING A TIME AND PLACE FOR THE OPENING OF
BIDS (CITY OF CARSON CASH CONTRACT NO. 44)
WHEREAS, the City of Carson has prepared plans and specifications for
the furnishing and spreading of liquid asphalt on City streets; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Carson that such plans
and specifications be approved and the work shown therein be done by the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section I. Approval of Plans and Specifications. The plans and specifi-
cations filed wit tTi-ire City Clerk and bearing the designation "Cash Contract No. 44 —City of
Carson", and relating to the improvements as described in this Resolution, are hereby
approved.
Section 2. Ordering the Work. It is ordered that the work and improve-
ments proposed to be done, hereinafter designated as Cash Contract No. 44, City of Carson,
shall be performed as shown in said specifications.
Section 3. Specifying Fund. It is ordered that the cost to the City of
said work and improvement shall be paid as follows:
Gas Tax Funds
Approximately $22,000
Section 4. Adoption of Wage Scale. It is hereby determined that the
general prevailing rate of hourly rates in the locality in which such work is to be performed,
for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute such public work, and also
the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work for each craft or workman or
mechanic are in accordance with the schedule adopted by Resolution No. 71-089. A copy
of Resolution No. 71-089 and the schedule of prevailing wage rates are on file in the office
of the City Clerk and open to public inspection.
Section 5. Call for Bids. The City Clerk is hereby ordered to post a
Notice InvitingSeared Bids for said project in at least three (3) public places in the City of
Carson as designated by the Carson Municipal Code. Said Notice shall distinctly state the
project to be done and refer to the specifications on file.
Section 6. Receipt and Opening of Bids. The City Council hereby fixes
Wednesday, Septet, 1971, at the hour of 10:00 A.M. as the day and hour, and the
City Clerk's Office at the City Hall, Carson, as the place of opening bids, and said time
and place shall be shown in the Notice. All bids shall be delivered to, opened, examined
and declared by the City Clerk at the City Hall, 21919 South Avalon Boulevard, Carson,
California, and shall be publicly opened.
The City Administrator shall report the results of such bidding to the City
Council at its next regular meeting after the opening of bids.

No proposal or bid shall be considered by the City Administrator or by the
City Council unless accompanied by a check or bid bond as required by law and satisfactory
to the City Council.

I, Marilyn R. Cortina, City Clerk of the City of Carson, California, do
hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City is four,
that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 71-127, was duly and regularly adopted
by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly
held on the 7th day of September, 1971, and that the same was so passed and adopted by
the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Bridgers, Marbut, Smith and Leahy.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.
