A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON AUTHORIZING ASSIGNMENT OF CITY'S RIGHTS
UNDER OPTION TO PURCHASE POST OFFICE SITE
WHEREAS, the City of Carson heretofore entered into an option agreement
dated January 26, 1970, between the City of Carson and Surety Savings and Loan Association,
whereby the City of Carson was given an option to purchase the real property described in
said option agreement, and said option agreement was thereafter extended and remains in full
force and effect; and
WHEREAS, the City of Carson heretofore gave an option to the Postmaster
General of the United States to purchase said real property for a post office site, and said
option remains in full force and effect; and
WHEREAS, the United States Government has heretofore assigned said option
in favor of the Postmaster General of the United States to Michael E. Nissenson, dba New
World Realty and Construction Co.; and
WHEREAS, said Michael E. Nissenson has elected to acquire said real property
from the City of Carson and the City of Carson in turn has elected to acquire said real property
from Surety Savings and Loan Association; and
WHEREAS, an escrow has been opened at Brokers Escrow Service between
Surety Savings and Loan Association as Seller and City of Carson as Buyer, and City proposes
to implement the provisions of both said options by assigning its rights in said escrow to
Michael E. Nissenson, dba New World Realty and Construction Co., in consideration of
payment of the sum of $30,000.00 of the purchase price to the City of Carson to reimburse
City for payments made to Surety Savings and Loan Association outside of escrow.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Carson hereby resolves
as follows:
Section I. The Mayor of the City of Carson is hereby authorized and
directed to execute in be alf of the City an assignment of the rights of the City of Carson as
Buyer in Brokers Escrow Service Escrow No. 13680 to Michael E. Nissenson, dba New World
Realty and Construction Co., in consideration of the reimbursement to City of the sum of
$30,000.00, said assignment to be in the form attached to this Resolution and made a part
hereof by reference.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 12th day of October, 1971.

I, Marilyn R. Cortina, City Clerk of the City of Carson, California, do
hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City is four;
that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 71-154, was duly and regularly adopted
by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly
held on the 12th day of October, 1971, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the
following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Bridgers, Marbut, Smith and Leahy.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.

September 23, 1971
You are instructed as follows:
(1) City of Carson hereby assigns all its rights as Buyer in the above
escrow to Michael E. Nissenson, dba New World Realty and Construction Co., "Assignee"
herein, and Assignee hereby assumes and agrees to perform all provisions of the escrow
instructions dated September 20, 1971, on Buyer's part, on the terms herein provided.
(2) Assignee will hand you the sum of $30,000.00 to reimburse City
of Carson for payments made to Seller outside of escrow, and you are instructed to dis-
burse said sum to City of Carson as close of escrow concurrently with disbursement to
Seller of the sum provided for in said escrow instructions.
(3) Assignee or nominee is hereby designated and nominated for vesting
of title under the provisions of said escrow instructions provided that you hold said sum of
$30,000.00 for disbursement to City of Carson as above provided.
