Update Street Improvement Projects Commission Oral Communications Adjournment City of Lynwood Traffic, Parking, and Public Safety Commission Minutes of the Regular Meeting June 4, 2015 1. Call to order Chair Martinez called the meeting to order at 6:13 p.m. 2. Pledge of Allegiance Commissioner Brown led the Pledge of Allegiance 3. Roll Call Commissioners Rowland Becerra, Percy Brown, Arthur Martinez, and Antonio Munguia were present. Commissioner Jenny Sierra was absent. Staff member Josef Kekula was present. 4. Acknowledgement of Posting Josef Kekula acknowledged the posting of the agenda Public Oral Communications None Scheduled Items 5. Approval of minutes of June 4, 2015 Chair Arturo Martinez moved to approve the minutes and vice Chair Roland Becerra second the motion. AYES: R. Becerra, P. Brown, A. Martinez and A. Munguia NOES: None ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: J. Sierra 6. Public Oral Communications: None 7. Public Hearing: None 8. Update Traffic Signal Project. Staff member Josef Kekula updated the Commission on the status of the City's traffic signal project. 9. Update Alameda Street Traffic Signal Synchronization Project: Staff member Josef Kekula updated the commission on the status of this County project. Staff Orals None Commission Oral Communications Chair Martinez commented on the following items: the need to review the crosswalk at Atlantic Avenue and Pendleton Avenue and determine if any improvements are recommended; consider limiting the hours to make left turn from east bound Imperial Highway on to northbound Pine Street vehicles make u-turns during school drop-off and pick-up peak hours and back traffic up; Fence in median in front of High School on Imperial Highway was damaged need to repair. Vice Chair Becerra commented on the following; Martin Luther King Boulevard and Brenton Avenue section of street should be considered to be vacated it is very dirty; the bus stop at Imperial Highway east of Atlantic Avenue does not have enough light; street light out on Martin Luther King Boulevard (Norton Avenue and Abbott Road). Chair Martinez commented on the vehicular fatality that occurred on Atlantic Avenue and Carlin Avenue. Informed the Commission that speeding occurs on Atlantic Avenue during mid-night to 3:00 AM. He also commented that the area around Burke-Ham Park is dark on the Atlantic Avenue side. Adjournment It was moved by Chair Martinez and seconded by vice Chair Becerra, to adjourn the meeting at 6:43 p.m.
