ATTENDING: Bill Williams, Lyn Clark, Gordon Colburn, Rick Feredey,
Bud Schmidt
1.) ALP: The Engineer's have not completed their work on the
update. They asked to meet next week to review the plan. The
committee agreed to set a special meeting for Tuesday, January loth at
12 noon at the Sportsman.
2.) LANDING FEES: The committee reviewed Section 1-12-9 of the
City Code regarding Landing Fees. Though codified, these have not
been collected. Other regional airports do exact such fees, placing
our operations at a competitive disadvantage. The committee reviewed
the existing rates and recommend the following changes:
Section 1-12-9-(A): Change $0.35 per thousand to $0.50 per
thousand, and change the minimum fee from $2.50 to $3.00.
Section 1-12-9 (c): Add to the exemptions as follows:
"...flights by or for the United States Forest Service, and
student training flights."
The committee suggested these be collected by the FBO's similar to the
way parking fees are collected with rebates to the FBO's for their
administrative costs.
On a motion by Feredey, seconded by Colburn, the committee
recommends to the City Council that code section 1-12-9 (A) and (C) be
amended as outlined above.
Without further business, the committee adjorned at 8:30 AM.
