A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON APPROVING PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, AND
ESTIMATE FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON PANAMA AVENUE,
JAVELIN STREET, MARBELLA AND CATSKILL AVENUES,
ORDERING THE WORK, CALLING FOR BIDS, DESIGNATING
A TIME AND PLACE FOR THE OPENING OF BIDS (CITY OF
CARSON CASH CONTRACT NO. 66)
WHEREAS, the City of Carson has authorized Weacco, Inc. to prepare plans,
specifications, and estimate for the street improvements on Panama Avenue between
Sepulveda Boulevard and 236th Street, Javelin Street, Catskill and Marbella Avenues in
the City of Carson; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Carson that such plans,
specifications and estimate be approved and the work shown therein be done by the City.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1. Approval of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate. The
plans, specifications and estimate filed with the City Clerk bearing the designation "Cash
Contract No. 66, City of Carson, Panama Avenue, Javelin Street, Catskill and Marbella
Avenues," and relating to the improvements as described in this Resolution, are hereby
approved.
Section 2. Ordering the Work. It is ordered that the work and
improvements proposed to be done, hereinafter designated as Cash Contract No. 66, City
of Carson, shall be performed as shown in said specifications.
Section 3. Specifying Fund. It is ordered that the cost to the City of
said work and improvements shall be paid as follows:
2107 Gas Tax Funds Approximately $63,240
Section 4. Adoption of Wage Scale. It is hereby determined that the
general prevailing rate of hourly rates in the locality where such work is to be performed,
for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute such public work, and
also the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work for each craft of
workman or mechanic are in accordance with the schedule adopted by Resolution No. 72-118.
A copy of Resolution No. 72-118 and the schedule of prevailing wage rates are on file in
the Office of the City Clerk and open to public inspection.
Section 5. Call for Bids. The City Council hereby fixes Tuesday,
January 30, 1973, at the hour of 10:00 a.m., as the day and hour, and the City Clerk's
Office of the City Hall, Carson, California, as the place of opening bids; and said time
and place shall be shown in the Notice. All bids shall be delivered to, opened, examined
and declared by the City Clerk at the City Hall, 21919 South Avalon Boulevard, Carson,
California, and shall be publicly opened.
The City Administrator shall report the results of such bidding to the City Council at its next
regular meeting after the opening of bids.
No proposal or bid shall be considered by the City Administrator or by the City Council unless
accompanied by a check or bid bond as required by law and satisfactory to the City Council.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of January, 1973.

I, Marilyn R. Cortina, City Clerk of the City of Carson, California, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of the City of Carson is five; that
the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 73-003, was duly and regularly adopted by the
City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the
2nd day of January, 1973, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
