November 2, 1988

1. 1988 Airport Improvement Project: The Staff reported that
project was nearly complete with only minor items remaining.
Leaving the displaced threshold in place would eliminate use of
the VASI lights for the winter. That matter was a concern.
Staff was asked to consult further with the engineers to consider
this before making a final decision.
2. 1989 Airport Improvement Project: The Engineers have received
verbal confirmation of McCall's priority in both Federal and
State Airport assistance programs. Approximately $765,000 is the
tentative allocation by FAA for McCall. The State has funds for
a 5% cash match and also for a State/Local lighting program. The
result of the project will be a completely new runway surface
extended to 6000 feet with new medium intensity lighting.
3. NDB Status: The NDB is fully operational. The auto dialer has
been installed as recommended by the committee. Certification of
the approach by FAA remains. Staff was asked to ensure we are
scheduled for certification.
4. Airport Layout Plan Workshop: The Committee determined to hold a
workshop on Thursday December 1, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the
new Smokejumper Loft. The Engineers will work through the plans
issues with the committee and other interested parties.
Without further business the meeting was adjourned.
