A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 73-109 AND
ORDERING THE VACATION OF A PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY
AT THE EASTERLY TEN f'10) FEET OF JAMISON FROM
TORRANCE BOULEVARD TO THE NORTHERLY LINE OF
GENEVIEVE STREET
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carson did approve on June 4,
1973, Resolution No. 73-109 vacating the public right of way at the easterly ten (10)
feet of Jamison from Torrance Boulevard to the northerly line of Genevieve Street; and
WHEREAS, the legal description of said Resolution No.73-109 was
incomplete; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the Cityof Carson did on May 7, 1973,
adopt Resolution No. 73-086, entitled "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of
Carson declaring its intention to vacate the public right of way at the easterly ten (10)
feet of Jamison from Torrance Boulevard to the northerly line of Genevieve Street;" and
WHEREAS, notices of street vacation were duly posted in the manner and
form and at the time required by Streets and Highways Code Section 8322; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did hold a public hearing pursuant to said
Resolution and Notice on Monday, June 4, 1973, tat the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the City
Council Chambers located at 21919 South Avalon Boulevard, Carson, California, at which
time said City Council heard all evidence offered by persons interested in the proposed
vacation; and
WHEREAS, said City Council finds and determines that the public right of
way that is a portion of Tract 824.5, which is a public right of way at the easterly ten (10)
feet of Jamison from Torrance Boulevard to the northerly line of Genevieve Street, shown
and described on Exhibit A hereto attached and made a part thereof, is unnecessary for
present or prospective street purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. Recision of Resolution No. 73-109. That the City Council of
the City of CarsonUoes Fereby rescind Resolution No. 73--1-077.
Section 2. Approve Resolution No. 74-090. That the City Council of
the City of Carson does7iereby order the vacation and a andonmentof the public right of
way at the easterly ten (10) feet of Jamison from Torrance Boulevard to the northerly line
of Genevieve Street, within the City of Carson, described as follows:
Those portions of Jamison Avenue, Genevieve Street and East Road
(now Torrance Boulevard), all as shown on map of Tract No. 8245,
in the unincorporated territory of the County of Los Angeles, State
of California, recorded in Book 93, Pages 36 and 37 of Maps, in
the office of the County Recorder of said County, included within
the following described boundary lines:
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly line of said Jamison
Avenue, being also the westerly boundary of Block D of said Tract
No. 8245, with the easterly prolongation of the straight portion of
the southerly line of Lot 17 in Block B of said Tract No. 8245, thence
along the easterly line of said Jamison Avenue S. 20 54' 00" E.
23.50 feet to an angle point therein; thence along the straight line
portion of the easterly line of said Jamison Avenue and its southerly
prolongation S. 80 36' 38" E. 280.88 feet to the beginning of a

tangent curve concave northeaster, having a radius of 30.00
feet and being tangent at its southeasterly terminus to a line
parallel with and distant southerly 20.00 feet, measured at right
angles from the straight portion of the southerly line of Block D
and its prolongations of.said Tract; thence southeasterly, along
said curve, an arc distance of 44.13 feet to said last mentioned
parallel line; thence along said last mentioned parallel line
S. 870 06' 00" W. 10.05 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve
concave northeasterly, having a radius of 30.00 feet and being
tangent at its northwesterly terminus to a line parallel with and
distant westerly 10.00 feet measured at right angles, from the
hereinbefore mentioned course and its prolongations having a
bearing and distance of "S. 80 36' 38" E.,280/88 feet"; thence
northwesterly, along said last mentioned curve, an arc distance of
44.13 feet to said last mentioned parallel line; thence along said
last mentioned parallel line, N . 80 36' 38" W. 280.38 feet to a
line parallel with and distant westerly 10.00 feet, measured at
right angles, from the hereinbefore mentioned course havingaa
bearing and distance of "S. 20 54' 00" E. 23.50 feet"; thence
along said last mentioned parallel line, N. 20 54' 00" W. 24.00
feet to the easterly prolongation of the straight portion oftithe
southerly line of said Lot 17, thence along said last mentioned
prolongation, N. 870 06' 00" E. 10.00 feet to the point of
beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the public convenience and necessity does
not require the reservation of easements and rights of way for sanitary sewers, storm drains,
appurtenant structures, pipes, conduits, cables, wires, poles and other strucutures
enumerated in Streets and Highways Code Section 8300.

hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of said City is five;
that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 74-090, was duly and regularly adopted
by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly
held on the 20th day of May, 1974, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the
following vote:
