Incident De-Briefing (June 27, 1988, USFS, Beach 99 crash): After
discussion the committee asked the airport staff to review and
update and expand the Crash/Rescue Plan to include emergency
protocols for the Airport Manager, Police, Public Works and City
Fire Operations. The committee will be asked to review the draft
plan at the next meeting.
NDB Status: Staff reported contacting Radio Communications Co, in
Ketchum to complete the radio installation on Saturday, July 9.
AIP (Runway Extension), status update: Staff reported that the
project is out to bid and proceeding on schedule.
Other Reports:
a) Fence replacement materials are on hand and the westerly
fence from the USFS base to the end of the current
runway will be replaced by smokejumpers this month.
b)
Tanker Base: The Forest Service has vacated the base
and CAP and Passmore are now utilizing the facilities.
Tanks are being removed as cooperative efforts by the
Department of Lands, SITPA, and the Rural Fire
Association and will be placed around the lake for water
storage for fire fighting.
c) Passmore Lease: This lease has been approved by the
Council.
New Business:
a) Landing Fees: Pat Dorris asked that we reconsider
assessing landing fees. Discussion occurred and staff
will report back on the matter. Fees would not be
assessed on FBO's, USFS, corporate or U.S. military or
agency aircraft. A $2.50 (single) and $4.00 twin
commercial fee was suggested. Administrative details
must be worked out.
Committee Membership: Due to Jim Sproat's change of
employment a new committee member may need to be
appointed. Staff was requested to contact Jim about his
plans to continue on the Committee.
c) Additional Tie Down Chains: Additional chain and chain
repair is needed.
MATCO Fence: The committee encouraged construction of a
fence between MATCO and the fire station to discourage
traffic in the MATCO fueling area.
