HomeMy Public PortalAbout2010-07-30 HPC MINUTES special meeting Village of Plainfield Historic Pres ervation Commission Record of Minutes Date: July 30, 2010 Location: Village Hall CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL, PLEDGE Chairman Bortel called the meeting to order at 2:18 p.m. Roll call was taken; Commissioners Bright, Spangler, Derrick, and Chairman Bortel were pres ent. Commissioners Allen, Olsen and Wright were absent. Michael Garrigan –Village Planner; Merrilee Trotz, Secretary were also present. Kathleen Maloney, owner, was present. Chairman Bortel led the pledge to the flag. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Commissioner Bright moved to approve the Agenda. Seconded by Commissioner Span gler. Voice vote: All in favor. 0 - opposed. Motion carried NEW BUSINESS Chairman Bortel stated this was a formal hear ing regarding a demolition permit for 15415 S. Route 59. Chairman Bortel and Commissioner Derrick met Diane Ma loney at the property and were given a tour of the house; there was substantial damage, the building is not habitable. The building was built between 1850 and 1855. The foundation is Joliet rubble limestone. Chairman Bortel asked if the owners would be willing to donate the limestone. Commissioner Derrick said it was a pre-classic I-House with extensive damage. Chairman Bortel stated he would like to take pictures as they tear off the aluminum siding. Commissioners Spangler and Bright agreed that the house should be demolished. ADJOURN: Commissioner Bright made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Spangler seconded the motion. Voice vote.
