HomeMy Public PortalAbout75-131RESOLUTION NO. 75-131 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS, EXPAN- SION ARTS PROGRAM FOR A MATCHING GRANT UNDER THE TERMS OF THE SPECIAL SUMMER PROJECTS CATEGORY -- SUMMER YOUTH THEATRE WHEREAS, matching grants up to $20,000 to assist outstanding professionally directed projects which take place uniquely and exclusively during the Summer by providing training, including active participation in one or more art forms are available; and WHEREAS, to be eligible for funding under this category, a project must have been conducted at least once before; and must comply., WHEREAS, said application contains assurances with which the applicant NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby: 1. Approves the filing of an application for a matching grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in the category of Special Summer Projects; and 2. Certifies that said agency understands and agrees to the assurances contained in the application; and 3. Certifies that said agency has or will have matching funds available; and 4. That E. Fredrick Bien, City Administrator is hereby authorized to execute and file an application on behalf of the City of Carson with the National Endow- ment for the Arts for a grant to aid in the financing of the Annual Summer Youth Theatre; and 5. That Howard B. Homan, Director of Parks and Recreation, is hereby authorized and directed to furnish such information as the National Endowment for the Arts may reasonably request in connection with the application which is herein authorized to be filed. 1975.
