He would have to pay $29,644.11 to the pension fund for these 2 years. Officer Anderson asked for a payment plan for approximately $15,000.00 for 5 years. Since the Board has not established a policy for purchasing military service time it will grant his request and use the same rules as the P ortability Act that has been used for officers transferring in service time from other pol ice departments. The Board requested that Lauterbach & Amen prepare the calculation for the loan. A motion was made by P. Hines and seconded by J. Ca liendo. A roll call vote was taken: J.Caliendo-yes, R. Cousins to approve the minut es of the Administrative Hearing on October 21, 2010 as prepared by Court Recorder Carr ie Pique. Seconded by P. Hines. Roll call vote taken: J. Caliendo-yes, R. Hines to approve the minutes of the Executive Session of October 21, 2010 as prepared by Court Recorder Carrie Pique . Seconded by S. Cousins. Roll call vote taken: J. Caliendo-abstained, R. John Falduto stated that there are new investment percentages for 2011. The Board will have to review and change the current investment policy. This item will be on April’s age nda. After much discussion S. Cousins motioned to accept the report as presented, seconded by P. Hines. Voice vote taken: all in favor. Motion carried. Officer Kaminski was one of the three officers laid off in 20 09. He requested a refund of his contributions and it was sent on December 30, 2010. Unfinished business: Unfinished business: Unfinished business: Unfinished business: Officer Dawn Fliszar was one o f three officers laid off in 2009. Officer Fliszar has started at Winnetka Police Dept. and wan ting to transfer her service. At the time of her lay off Dawn was approximately 1.5 years into transferring her service time from Lansing PD when laid off. Since the lay off all of this became very complicated. The Board has asked Attorney Richard Reimer to send a letter to the Department of Insurance and ask for an opinion of this issue on behalf of Officer Fli szar. Mr. Reimer will notify Pres. Jim Caliendo as soon as he receives an answer. A motion was made by P. Hines and seconded by J. Caliendo to approve the costs of Mr. Reimer fo r his services in this matter. No discussion. New business: New business: New business: New business: Elections are coming up in April and letters have gone out to retiree representative Patricia Hines and Trustee Joseph Gin ejko asking if they are interested in staying on the Board. Patricia Hines has responded t hat she would like to remain on the Board. Since there are other local retirees there wil l have to be an election for her position. An Administrative Hearing is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on the Donald Bennett case. There was a motion by S. Cousins to adjourn the business m eeting for the Administrative Hearing for the hearing and to reconvene. Seconded by R. Mes zaros. Roll call vote: J. Caliendo-yes, R. Meszaros-yes, P. Hines-yes, J. Cousins and seconded by R. Meszaros to grant Donald Bennett the requested pension able annual salary of $142,000 to include retro-active increase from Janu ary 2009. A roll call vote taken: R. Meszaros-yes, P. Hines-no, J. Ginejko-yes, S. Cousi ns-yes. The vote is 3 yes and 1 no. Motion carried.
