Ch apman, SECRETARY • Raymond P. Brixey, LIASON Commissioner Michael Nott called the April 29, 201 0 meeting of the Board of Police Commissioners to order at 5:06 p.m. In a ddition to Commissioner Nott, in attendance were Commissioners Greg Chapman and R aymond Brixey, Chief William Doster and recording secretary, Kathy Glava c. The minutes of the March 18, 2010 meeting were rea d. There being no clarifications or corrections, Commissioner Nott mo ved the minutes be approved as read. Commissioner Brixey seconded the motion. All in favor. The minutes were approved as read. Correspondence – The Board of Police Commissioners received a written request for freedom of information dated April 20, 2010 from Sgt. Anthony Novak requesting individual testing scores from the 2007 Sergeant Promotional Exam. Prior to releasing this information, Commiss ioner Nott will contact Commission Attorney; John Broihier to confirm the r equest can be accommodated per the guidelines set by the Illinois Fire and Police Commission. Public Comments – None Executive Session – None Pending Business – The Institute for Public Safety Personnel sent documentation regarding the upcoming Sergeant Promo tional Exam. The Commissioners took time to review the materials and after careful consideration and discussion, Commissioner Nott moved: Sergeant Promotional Written Exam will take place on Sunday, October 3, 2010, with testing session 1 beginning at 12:00 p.m . and session 2, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Oral Interviews will be on October 13, 2 010 beginning at 9:00 a.m. and will be scheduled by officer last name, alphabe tical order. 14300 S. Department polic y will also be a portion of the written exam, but will be open book, with the depar tment providing a lap top containing the policy handbook to be used for the e xam. Per Chief Doster’s direction, Kathy Glavac and Lisa DePatie have organized all police officer personnel files and all document s relating to the Police Commission are now located in the Commission office . Kathy Glavac is working to purge outdated Commissi on documents per guidelines set forth by the government. She will k eep the Commissioners apprised of the progress. Kathy Glavac informed the Board of Police Commissi oners that she will be in her final semester of classes at Joliet Junior C ollege in the fall. A mandatory class is scheduled for Thursday evenings. She has asked the Commission to reschedule the October 21 and November 18, 2010 mee tings to accommodate her class schedule. The Commissioners will take th is under advisement and give her a decision at the next meeting. The next meeting of the Board of Police Commission ers is September 16, 2010 and the Institute for Public Safety Personnel will be attending, so therefore the meeting will be scheduled for 5:00 p.m. There being no further business or discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 7:37 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Greg Chapman Secretary Plainfield Police Commission
