Sectio n 70-187 Table of D istrict Standards Discussion: This single sto ry west indies-style ho me is the seco nd of this architectural style pro po sed fo r the new Bluewater Cove street in Pla ce Au Soliel. Ho wever, the o ther approved west indies-style home (which has already been constructed) is two stories. This applicatio n went befo re the A RPB twice. During the first meeting, the Board asked that the applicant address three broad themes on each of the three ho mes pro pose d for approva l at that meeting (lo ts 4, 12, and 13), which are neighbo ring on the Bluewater Co ve street in Place Au Soleil: 1. Exterio r privacy ga rden wall was higher than permitted by the Town Co de; 2. The co lo rs of the home s were too similar to o thers currently approved on the same street; 3. Ma ssing was too similar to the existing home s; and 4. The entry paver walkway to the front doo r and landscaping was too similar. The Applicant met with staff as directed by the Bo ard and mo dified the application to address these co ncerns. Changes include mo difying the shutters to a traditio nal type, removing the shutters around the front doo r, adjustment of the co lo r palette, and mo dification to the hardscape to eliminate the walkway from the street to the fro nt doo r. The wall for the privacy garden with shower was reduced fro m 6' to 4' as required by the To wn Code. There were also co ncerns about a pro hibited 'half elevation treatment' which were addressed by the applicant at the September meeting with the Bo ard ARPB File # 23-19 ARPB: September 28, 2023; October 26, 2023; November 16, 2023 TOWN COMMISSION: December 8, 2023 Page 2 rec ommending the design to be accepted as an acceptable am ount of 'change in material and wall plane (preferred)' per secti on 70-104.
