A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING EFFORTS TO ATTRACT ONE OR MORE NFL TEAMS
TO THE CITY OF CARSON
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood wishes to support the efforts of its neighbor —
the City of Carson, to attract one or more NFL teams to Carson; and
WHEREAS, both the Chargers and the Raiders have a strong fan base in the
Los Angeles area and attendance at home games would be high; and
WHEREAS, should the City of Carson succeed in this endeavor, the
southeastern corridor of Los Angeles County may see considerable economic benefits.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the above recitals are true and correct.
Section 2. That the efforts of the City of Carson to attract one or more NFL
teams to the region may be beneficial to the economic interests of the City of Lynwood.
Section 3. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood supports efforts to
bring NFL teams to the region.
Section 4. That the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution and transmit a copy of same to the City Manager of the City
of Carson.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 18th day of August, 2015.
