Savannah Beach, Tybee Island,Ga.,
January 6th,1933.
The regular meeting of Council was held to -day at 4:OOp.m. and
was attended by Chaarman of Council Cann, who presided, and
Councilmen Blumenthal,Righton,Demere,Logan and Sharpley and
Town Attorney McIntyre.
The minutes of the meeting of Dec.29th were read and adopted.
Chairman Cann reported that a committee consisting of Mr. Gamble
Councilman Logan and himself donferred with Mr. J.P.Houlihan,
President of The Liberty National Bank & Trust Co., about fi-
nancing the Town. until May let, the proposed bugget was read
and the matter was referred to the Finance Committee.
Councilman Righton moved that the action of the Mayor request-
ing the_Savannah electric Co'., to discontinue 23 street lights
on the island as.of January lst,1933 be approved, Councilman
Demere seconded this and the motion passed unanamously.
Councilmal.Righton moved that the Chairman of Council be autho-
rized to negotiate* with.the Liberty National Bank & Trust Co.,
and the Citizens - Southern National Bank, the renal of the
several notes due on January 13th and 14th, for 30 days, Coun-
cilman Demere seconded and the motion passed unanamously.
A card expressing the thanks of the family of the.late Supt
of Public Works and Roads T.Newell.West, for the floral offering
sent them, was received.
There being no further business 'Council adjourned sub,,ect to
the call of the Chairman of Council.

A special meeting of Council was heldto -day at 12:30 p.m. and was
attended by Chairman of Council Cann,who presided, and Councilmen
Logan,Blumenthal and Righton and Mr. J.C.Lewis and Mr. George W.
T,edman.
Chairman Cann called the meeting order and announced that Mr.
Lewis had consented to sekteths Mayari ofdthenTown and that Mr.
Tiedeman had been requ:_sted and had very kindly (consented to
administer the oath of office to Mr. Lewis, as follows;
I,J.C.Lewis do solmnly swear that I will faithfully and honestly
erform the duties of Mayor of the Town of Savannah Beach-,Tybee Island,
a., to the best of my skill and ability without favor or afection,
