AIRPORT COMMITTEE MEETING
JANUARY 6, 1988
Kirk Braun
City Administrator Bud Schmidt
Councilman Dick Moltke
1. MISSION STATEMENT:
The Committee observed the Mission Statement adopted by the City
Council and noted that the restriction on membership of employees
will result in disqualifying two existing members from membership.
Ron Delp and Lyn Clark, for insurance purposes, are not subcon-
tractors, but work as employees of MATCO. The committee asked
the Council to reconsider this limitation.
2. PLOWING OF DIAGONAL TAXIWAY:
After discussion, the Committee recommended that this taxiway be
plowed until a berm height of 26" is reached. At that point it
becomes unsafe for low -winged aircraft. When that height is
reached, the access should be bermed and blocked to prohibit all
access. The result of keeping this open is to cut the snow
surface on the parallel taxiway. By doing this, ski planes would
be restricted to a 3000' landing surface on the south end of the
taxiway.
3. AIP:
The Committee recommended some additions to the Pre -application,
particularly efforts to provide the 24 hour altimeter via an
updated weather station.
4. AIRPORT ENGINEERING CONTRACT:
The Committee reviewed the terms of the agreement and urged its
approval.
5. ADJOURNMENT:
Without further business, the Committee adjourned.
Bud Schmidt, C''y Administrator/Airport Manager
