February 1935.
The regular meeting of Council was held to -day at 4 :00 p.m.and
• was attended by .Mayor Lewis,who preside t,- and Councilmen Righton,
Demere,Logan,Blumenthal,Cann and Sharpley. -
The minutes of the meeting of January 12th were read and approved.
The committee appointed to call on Mr. G.W.Tiedeman, Chairman of the
County Commissiasrs in referenne to fixing the status of Mr. W.J.
Bryan reported that Mr. Tiedeman informed them that a new man could
not be employed,he was desirous of helping the town and suggested t
that he had a man he could send down to do Mr.Bryans work,Councilman
Logan reported that he had discussed the matter with Mr Cgrl Espy
and that Mr Espy had suggested to Mr Tiedeman that Mr. Broughton
be transferred to some other duties and Mr Bryan be placed in charge
of the camp on the island - Councilman Righton made a motion that
a committee be alppoinjted to confer with Mr.Tiedeman with a view to
having Mr. Broughton transferred to other duties and, putting Mr.
Bryan in his place at the camp on the island, Councilman Blumenthal
seconded and the maotion passed unanamously- the Mayor appointed the
whole board to call on Mr. Tiedeman and at the same time this com-
mittee will make arrangements to get the use o' the equipment to
repaint the asphalt streets that need repairing.
The Finance.Committee recommended that bills amounting to 4552.12
be paid, Councilman Cann made the motion,Councilman Logan seconded
motion passed.
The matter of having the Georgia Legislature authorizing the State
to pretect the •shore line was discussedazax
and Councilman Cann and Sharpley were appoiinted a committee to han,
dle the matter with the Reparesentatives from this District.
There being no further business Council adjourned subject- to the
