Asspecial meeting of Council was held to -day at 11 :00 A.M. and was attended by Mayor Lewis, who prektded, and Councilmen Cann, Blumenthal and Logan and Building Inspector Owen. Petition of Miller Kaminsky to erect building eight and one -half from adjoining property line, building being wood frame,Councilman Logan moved that Building Ordinance be enforced, seconded by Coun- cilman Cann, passed. The C.A.R. having given notice that it wit1 discontinue all service, both freight and passenger, effective March 2nd, to and from the island, Councilman Kogan was of the opinion that this should be objected to by Council and introduced the folloring resolution, Councilman Blumenthal seconded, the motion passed; RESOULTION. WHEREAS it has been brought to our attention that the Central of GeorgianRailway Company has applied for per - mission to discontinue all carrier service, passenger and feeight, by rail or bus,betwean Savannah and Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, "Ga. ARID WHEREAS if this permmssion shouldbe granted it would cause a great set back to the growth and progress • of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Ga., and seriously affect the°comfort, convenience and business of the public. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that such application be disapproved and opposed and this Board seek the assis- tance and' co- operation of the Mayor and Alderman of'the City of Savannah and the Savannah Chamber of Commerce in presenting to the proper authorities objection to the granting of such permission: There being no further business Council adjourned subject to the ca 1 of the i : yor.
