A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON OPPOSING THE PROPOSED INCREASE ON THE
AUTOMOBILE ASSIGNED RISK FOR TERRITORY NO. 85
WHEREAS, the assigned risk factor for automobile insurance rates may
be raised 40.98% effective I July, 1977 in Territory No. 85; and
' WHEREAS, the approval of such an adjustment will result in exorbitant
and unjust automobile insurance rates for residents of the City of Carson which is loca-
ted within Territory No. 85; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carson has determined that the
proposed rate increase is not justified when compared to assigned risk factors for surround-
ing counties;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, FIND AND DECLARE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Carson opposes any
adjustment tc the assigned risk which will result in higher automobile insurance costs
for residents of the City of Carson.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Carson supports the
efforts of Los Angeles County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn to have this matter reviewed so
that the assigned risk factor is equitable and fair for all California motorists residing
within Territory No. 85.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is authorized to transmit copies of this
' resolution to the Governor of the State of California and to all representatives of the
City of Carson in the State Legislature.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of May 1977.

certify that the whole number of members of the City.Council of said City is five; that the
foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 77-082, was duly and regularly adopted by the
City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on
the 2nd day of May , 1977, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the
following vote:
