HomeMy Public PortalAbout77-168RESOLUTION NO. 77-IAR A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON GRANTING AN EXTENSION OF TIME FOR THE CONTINUATION OF EXCEPTION NO. 41-70 The City Council of the City,of Carson Hereby Finds, Resolves and Orders as Follows: Section 1. The City Council does hereby find and determine that an application was duly filed by Kay Calas with respect to real property described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, requesting an extension of time for the continuance of zone exception No. 41-70; and that a public hearing was duly held on July 5, 1977 at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 701 E. Carson Street, Carson California; and a notice of the time, date, place and purpose of the aforesaid hearing was duly given. Section 2. Evidence, both written and oral, was duly presented to and considered by the City Council at the aforesaid public hearing. Section 3. The City Council finds: 1) On November 16, 1970 the City Council adopted ' Resolution No. 70-143, in connection with the subject prop- erty, approving an exception from the Carson zoning Ordinance (Exception No. 41-70) permitting the construction and main- tenance of a pole sign in excess of'the sign allowance as set forth in Section 255(h)(2) of said zoning ordinance. 2) Pursuant to the conditions of Resolution No. 70-143, said exception expired on November 16, 1975. 3) Due to the size and location of the subject property and the proximity of other neighborhood businesses in the immediate area which compete for the attention of motorists utilizing Carson Street, the subject exception continues to be necessary in order to provide proper iden- tification of the business operated on the subject property. 4) The sign permitted by said Exception No. 41-70 is consistent and compatible with the type and size of signs utilized by businesses in the immediate area of the subject property. 1 RESOLUTION NO. 77-IAR A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON GRANTING AN EXTENSION OF ' TIME FOR THE CONTINUATION OF EXCEPTION NO. 41-70 The City Council of the City of Carson Hereby Finds, Resolves and Orders as Follows: Section 1. Based on the aforementioned findings, the City Council hereby grants an extension of time to and including August 1, 1982 for the continuance of Exception No. 41-70 with respect to the property described in Section 1 hereof. ' Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall transmit copies of the same to the applicant, and to the Director of Community Development.
