A special meeting was held to-day at 4 :00 p. m., and was attend-
ed by Mayor Lewis, who presided, and Councilmen Cann, Logan,
Dighton, Demere, Sharpley, Blumenthal, and Mr4. A. P. Solomon,Jr.,
and James M. Roger of the Tybee Water Works.
Discussion relative to changes in the contract with the Tybee
Water Werke was had and on motion of Councilman Blumenthal, se-
conded by Councilman Demere, that the Mayor be given authority
to sign the contract after the new changes were made, the mo-
tion passed.
On motion of Councilman Cann, seconded by Councilman Blumen-
thal, the following ordinance was passed.

SECTION 1 - BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Councilmen:=

of enforcing all ordinances now or hereafter enacted by council

provements upon said island and the maintenance thereof; to

said roads and streets are maintained and kept in good condi-
tion; to supervise the construction of all ditches, canals and
drainage work; including the removal of all underbrush, or trees,
bushes and other growth necessary or proper to insure proper
drainage of said island; to enforce all ordinances in connec-
tion with buildings and /or structures within the fire limits
of sd.id town as now or hereafter defined; to make all inspec-
tions now or hereafter required under ordinances of said town
in connection with buildings now or hereafter erected upon
said island; to see that the same, whether hereafter built or
now existing are so maintained, will not constitute a viola-
tion of any ordinance now or hereafter passed in connection
therewith; to supervise and enforce all ordinances or regula-

tions now or hereafter passed for the health conditions of said
town, including all sanitary ordinances or regulations now or
hereafter passed; to enforce violations of ordinances by regu-
lar and proper reports thereof for docket in the Police Court
of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, and particularly in reference
to ordinances as to fire hazzards and health protection, and to
do and perform all other -, -tt $duties as may from time to
time be required of such �. ._:_ by the Mayor and
Councilmen of said town.

shall, when selected, have a fixed salary or com-
pensation as shall be then determined by said council, which said
salary shall be paid in the manner and at the time or times designa-
ted by said Mayor and Councilmen at the time of selection, with the
right, however, in said Mayor and Councilmen of said town, or of any
future Mayor and Councilmen of said town, after said salary shall be
fixed, to reduce the same from time to time at any time to any a-
mount which the present Mayor and Councilmen, or any future Mayor
and Counciithen of said town, shall determine.
SECT ON 4 - lak T FURTHER ORDAINED by the authority aforesaid

duty of making inspections as may heretofore been delineated to of-
ficers creatdEd under ordinances heretofore peeved and the office or
offices created by ordinances for such inspections are hereby re-
lieved of such duties and the office and offices, so created, are
hereby abolished, provided, however, that if the inspector created
by any office can only perform the duties of an inspector under spe-
cial qualifications designated by the Southeastern Underwriters As-
sociation or other body or bodies designating-qualifications for
such inspection or by any ruling or any statute of the State of
IGeorgia, then such inspector's office is not hereby abolished, but
the same is kept in force and the office of inspector designated
under any such ordinance shall continue in the due performance of

Councilman Logan made a motion that an amendment to the building ordi-
nance be adopted requiring that any building of two stories or more be
'storm sheathe,,, Councilman Sharpley seconded, and the motion passed; -

THERETO A SECTION-PROVIDING THAT ALL FRAME BUILDINGS HEREAFTER E-
RECTED WITHIN THE LIMITS OF SAID TOWN, KNOWN AS THE FIRE LIMITS,
OF TWO OR MORE STORIES IN HEIGHT, SHALL BE STORM SHEATHED, AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES *.
6.giOTIOii I. BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Councilmen of
Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, in council assembled, that that cer-
tain ordinance heretofore enacted and known as the *Building Code*
of said town, be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto
the following section and paragraph to be known as Section 12 of
said Luilding Codes
That from and after the passage of this ordinance all frame
buildings and frame structures of two or more stories in height,
(erected within the area now or 'hereafter designated as the fire
limits of said town, shall be storm sheathed and that the construc-
tion thereof shall be in all other respects in accord with the re-
quirements of the building code of said town.)

that all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
be and the same are hereby repealed.
