Dear Ms. Basel:
Pursuant to Article I, section 24 of the Florida Constitution and Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, I
request that you provide access or an opportunity to inspect and copy the following public records:
*Crash reports, including motor vehicle, pedestrian, motorcycle and bicycle injury and fatal accidents along
State Road A1A in Gulfstream from 2019 through 2023.
If you deny this request in whole or in part, I request that you advise me in writing, as required by
section 119.07(1)(e) and (f), Fla. Stat., of the particular statutory exemption upon which you are
relying and that you state with particularity the reasons for your conclusion that the record is
exempt. If an asserted exemption applies to only a portion of a record, please delete the portion that
you claim is exempt and release the remainder of the record as required by section 119.07(1)(d).
If the requested records are kept in an electronic record keeping system, then please produce the
records in electronic form as required by section 119.01(f). If the records are maintained only in paper
form, then please produce them in that form. If the records are maintained in some combination of
electronic and paper form, then please contact me and explain which records are kept in which
medium so that I can decide which is the most expeditious manner of accessing the records.
The Coastal Star will pay for the “actual cost of duplication” of the public records as defined by Florida
Statutes, section 119.011(1). Please advise me of these costs before taking any billable steps.
In light of the nature and importance of the records, I request that the records be made available as
soon as possible.
If any questions arise please contact me at 561-573-9693 or jmusgravey@gmail.com.
Thanks in advance for your help.

The Town of Gulf Stream has received your public records request dated January 29, 2024. You

PRR 24-2990 (laserfiche.com)
These records are maintained via a digital system that contains CJIS data therefore an inspection
is not permitted as you are not a permitted or authorized user.
The Town estimates that to fully respond to your request to inspect and copy these records will
require approximately half an hour of administrative support at $73.63 per hour, the labor cost of
the personnel providing the service, per Fla. Stat. § 119.07(4)(d). If the costs of providing
access to these records will exceed your deposit, the Town will provide you with an initial
production of responsive records and an estimate for the production of any additional responsive
records. If the costs of production are less than the deposit, the Town will provide you with
access to the responsive records and a refund.
(1/2 hour @ $73.63) = Deposit Due: $36.82 in cash or check.
Upon receipt of your deposit, the Town will use its very best efforts to further respond to your
public records request in a reasonable amount of time. If we do not hear back from you within
30 days of this letter, we will consider this request closed.
