A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARSON ACCEPTING THE WORK PERFORMED BY
PHOENIX ELECTRICAL COMPANY - CASH CONTRACT
NO. 250 INVOLVING THE INSTALLATION OF SPORTS
LIGHTING AT DOLPHIN AND CARRIAGE CREST PARKS.
WHEAREAS, the City Council did on the 1st day of November 1976,
approve and adopt Resolution No. 76 -208 awarding the contract for the
installation of sports lighting at Dolphin and Carriage Crest Parks
(Cash Contract No. 250); and
WHEREAS, said work has been inspected by the Parks and
Recreation Director and by him approved as constructed and m mpleted
in its entirety, in accordance with the plans and specifications for such
improvement project and authorized revisions therein; and
WHEREAS, said Director does now recommend and request the
acceptance of the work and filing of a Notice of Completion thereof; and
WHEREAS, the final contract amount in the sum of $142,777. 24
has been approved as just and fair; and
WHEREAS, the general contract provides for a total of 10570
($14, 277.72) of said total contract price shall be retained until thirty-five
(35) days after the recording of the Notice of Completion of said improve-
ment project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Carson
does hereby accept the work performed by said contractor and approves
the same as being completed in accordance with the plans and specifica-
tions for said project and authorized revisions therein; and the City
Administrator is hereby authorized to file Notice of Completion of said
project in the Office of the Los Angeles County Recorder; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council has authorized
and directed to pay to said contractor, the Phoenix Electrical Company,
the sum of $14, 277.72 in full payment of said work performed by the said
contractor, less any sums held until the expiration of thirty-five (35) days
following the filing of said Notice of Completion, and then paid contingent
upon the absence of the filing of any stop notice against said project within
thirty-five (35) days after the filing of the Notice of Completion; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon expiration of said
thirty-five (35) days following the filing of said Notice of Completion,
without any claim being ruled against said project, that all bonds
filed by the contractor in said project shall be exonerated and
discharged, excepting that the faithful performance bond shall remain
in force until the expiration of one year from the date of filing said
Notice unless a substitute bond approved by the Director of Parks and
Recreation and the City Attorney shall have been filed.

do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of said City is five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 78-003,
was duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of said City at a regular
meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the third day of January
1978, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
