HomeMy Public PortalAbout78-145RESOLUTION NO. 78-145 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CARSON URGING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY TO RETAIN THE PREVIOUS SYSTEM FOR ALLOCATING AID TO CITIES FUNDS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the Cities of Los Angeles County have received gas tax funds from Los Angeles County for use on streets used by all County residents, and WHEREAS, these funds have been allocated on a formula based upon population and street miles with amounts to be distributed known in advance, and WHEREAS, we have heard that the Board may abandon this formula approach and leave the amount, if any, per city strictly up to the appropriate Supervisor or Supervisors. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carson that it urges the Board of Supervisors to continue to apportion Aid to Cities gas tax funds to cities on the same formula used in recent years, namely 850 on population and 150 on street miles.
