A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING A REQUEST FOR MARKETING SUPPORT AND WAIVING THE BASE
RENTAL FEES FOR THE USE OF CITY FACILITIES IN THE AMOUNT OF $650.00
FOR THREE SEPARATE EVENTS THAT WOULD AID IN RAISING FUNDS FOR
TELETONUSA 2015.
WHEREAS, a request was made by a representative of the TeletonUSA
Foundation for minor marketing support from the City of Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, the TeletonUSA Foundation requests that the City of Lynwood waive
the base rental fees for the two -time use of Bateman Hall Auditorium in the amount of
$470, and the one -time use of the Community Center Gym in the amount of $180; and
WHEREAS, -the :.City of Lynwood's support and fee. waivers for these three
separate events will help to launch the fundraising efforts for the 2015 TeletonUSA
telethon, taking place on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Plaza Mexico.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council approves the use of City facilities and the waiver
of rental fees in the amount of $650, along with minor marketing support.
Section 2. The City Council further finds that the TeletonUSA Foundation's
request serves the important public purpose of providing a public service or otherwise
promoting the public health, safety and welfare of children with disabilities through its
simultaneous telethons going on around the country on the same day.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 6t" day of October, 2015.
