A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF $160,000 FROM THE
UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND FOR THE OUTDOOR FITNESS ZONE TO BE
LATER REIMBURSED BY THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY REGIONAL PARK AND
OPEN SPACE DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the City received a grant from the Los Angeles County Regional
Park and Open Space District in the amount of $160,000 for the construction of an
outdoor fitness zone at the Lynwood City Park; and
WHEREAS, staff is working with the Los Angeles County Regional Park and
Open Space District to extend the deadline to expend the funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Resolution 2012.238 authorizing the City
Manager or his designee to conduct negotiations and submit grant documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council authorize the appropriation of $160,000 from
the unappropriated General Fund to Recreation and Community Services Sports and
Leisure Division for the purpose of constructing an outdoor fitness zone at the Lynwood
City Park.
Section 2. The General Fund shall later be reimbursed by the Los Angeles
County Regional Park and Open Space District.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 6t" day of October, 2015.
