A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT WITH UNIFIRST CORPORATION
FOR UNIFORM RENTAL /LAUNDRY SERVICES FOR THREE YEARS AND A CITY
OPTION FOR TWO MORE YEARS MAKING THE TOTAL CONTRACT LENGTH FIVE
YEARS
WHEREAS, on June 16, 2015, the City Council adopted Resolution No.
2015 104 approving to terminate a contract with Aramark Uniform & Career Apparel,
LLC ( Aramark) and issue a request for Proposals to provide uniform services; and
WHEREAS, on July 20, 2015 the City of Lynwood Public Works Department
issued an RFP for Uniform Rental /Laundry Services; and
WHEREAS, Unifirst Corporation submitted a qualifying bid for services.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council authorize the Mayor to execute an agreement
with Unifirst Corporation ( Unifirst) in a form approved by the City Attorney to assume
uniform services and other rag supplies starting the effective date of termination to
October 19, 2018 with a City option to continue until October 19, 2020.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 15th day of September, 2015.
