Attendance: President Michael Thuman ___X___, Don Nordstrom __X__, David Inderstrodt____, Lynn Johnstone ___X_, Jill Nelson_X___, Joe Schroeder __X___, John Oberle (vacant) ,_____, Scott Zimmerman, Staff__X__. Four members constitute a quorum and official action may be taken. Guest: Scott Bartel, Eric Marsh of WCTV Approve Minutes – JUNE, 2012 Lynn moved, Michael seconded to approve the May minutes. Passed unanimously. BUSINESS Scott reported that he had met with Dr. Bourff and school board president Kelly Baumgartner about the national register nomination. They would like to have a work session for the full school board in October, probably October 17. The commission agreed to continue the topic until after the school board has met. Michael asked if any checks had come in for Historic Richmond Today funding. Scott said NO and Lynn pointed out Preserve Richmond had pledged $100. Jill moved and Michael seconded to have Preserve Richmond accept checks on the commission’s behalf. Motion passed by voice vote. Eric Marsh has not heard further from John. John is still working on editing the library show. The commission asked if a slide could be added to the end of the Historic Richmond Today reruns asking for money to be sent to Preserve Richmond. Eric would consider that. Jill will send out the updated Linden Hill design guidelines. Don said we need a mission statement and a budget and a staff member to operate and manage preservation projects. We also need a business plan to present to city council. One option is to get first dibs on demolitions to establish a co-op program to promote rehabilitation of buildings. . David moved and Jill seconded to adjourn at 6:10. Motion passed. Next meeting: Monday, September 10, 5 p.m. in the city building council chambers on third floor.
