HomeMy Public PortalAbout2019.04.01 Proclamation - Census 2020 Awareness DayCity of McCall Census 2020 Awareness Day Proclamation WHEREAS, more than $675 billion per year in federal funding is allocated to states and communities based on census data; and WHEREAS, an up-to-date and accurate census count is vital in ensuring our state and cities receive annual funds that help improve transportation, schools, hospitals, public works and other vital programs; and WHEREAS, census data helps shape where to locate schools, offices and stores; and WHEREAS, census data helps local governments provide greater public safety and emergency preparedness; and WHEREAS, census data ensures fair Congressional representation in the U.S. House of Representatives and in redistricting state legislatures, county and city councils, and school and voting districts; and WHEREAS, the 2020 Census will create jobs in communities; and WHEREAS, the census is meant to represent everyone; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jackie J.
