Proclamation
July 6, 2019
WHEREAS: Dr. Amy Hoover co-founded the locally based and internationally
renowned McCall Mountain/Canyon Flying Seminars; and
WHEREAS: Dr. Amy Hoover serves as a Full Professor at Central Washington
University where she served eight years as Aviation Department Chair; and
WHEREAS: Dr. Amy Hoover is a prolific author of over 30 articles and
manuals on mountain and canyon flying and wrote the book Mountain, Canyon, and
Backcountry Flying; and
WHEREAS: She obtained her Private Pilot License in 1989 and has since
accumulated over 7000 flight hours to include 3800 hours providing flight
instruction; and
WHEREAS: Dr. Amy Hoover started and operated the grant funded CWU
ACES Academy for girls to explore education and Careers in Aviation, Construction,
Engineering, and Safety, in which more than 200 girls have participated; and
WHEREAS: She is the keynote speaker for the 2019 Airport Open House,
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jackie J. Aymon, Mayor of the City of McCall, with the
consent of the McCall City Council, do hereby proclaim July 6th, 2019 to be:
Dr. Amy Hoover Day
In the City of McCall, Valley County, State of Idaho.
